From Blah to Bespoke: A Sage-Dyed T-Shirt Revival

There's so much beauty happening in the garden right now, and it's been fun to share it — like these bouquets I recently brought to a friend's birthday party. My herbs especially are having a moment, so I put my abundance of sage to good use and made a dye bath for a plain white t-shirt.

The sage gave the shirt a lovely buttery yellow, and after dipping it in an iron modifier, it deepened into a rich olive. The shirt itself was a unisex style I'd never felt was very flattering, so I made a few strategic cuts to the fit — and loved the results. It went from blah to bespoke!

My indigo is also finally ready for its first harvest of the season, so stay tuned for what's next.
